I would like to use this Blog, to extend my congratulations to Siobhán Parkinson, who has just been announced the first Children's Laureate/Laureate na nÓg.
Siobhán is a former Bisto Book of the year award winner, who has written over twenty books and is a very worthy choice for such a position.
The project, I believe, is a wonderful idea and an exceptional opportunity to promote literacy and reading and further information can be found on www.childrenslaureate.ie
